Though tea tree oil is recommended to be mixed with carrier oil or water before application but one can use it without mixing water or carrier oil. There are some possibilities that it can irritate your scalp. So, be sure to do the patch test before application.
2. Mix Shampoo and Tea Tree Oil for hair fall
Tea tree oil is found to work well with almost all varieties of shampoos. Hence these days many companies have made tea tree oil, an important ingredient in their shampoos. You can simply mix few drops of tea tree oil with your regular shampoo. Massage hair and scalp for 3-5 minutes and rinse it off with normal water. Repeat it twice a week for fast result.
3. Olive Oil and Tea Tree oil for hair growth and dandruff
Olive oil helps in giving moisture and shine to hair. It helps in regrowth of hair and makes scalp healthier than before as it contains antioxidants and vitamin E which are beneficial for hair and scalp. It solves the problems like dry, flaky scalp or dandruff, switching to olive oil is a good idea. Tea tree oil when mixed with olive oil makes one such mixture, which promises to give you a healthy hair growth.
Take 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and add 3-5 drops of tea tree oil. Apply to the scalp and give a gentle massage of 5-10 minutes. Keep it for overnight or rinse it off after 30-40 minutes with herbal shampoo. Repeat it for twice a week.
4. Baking Soda and Tea tree oil for dandruff
Baking soda has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which kill the skin damaging microbes. It has an anti-inflammation property and maintains the skin’s pH. It absorbs excess oil from skin and unclogs the skin pore.
Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 3-5 drops of tea tree oil and 3 tablespoons of honey. Apply to the scalp and give a gentle massage of 5-10 minutes. Rinse it off after 30-40 minutes with herbal shampoo. Repeat it for twice a week. Honey also promotes regrowth of hair and provides moisture to the dry scalp and hair. The combined power of baking soda and tea tree oil kills the bacteria and removes dead cells effectively.
5. Apple Cider Vinegar and Tea tree oil for hair shine and split ends
Glands below the skin’s surface secrete oils that keep the hair shiny and healthy. Apple Cider Vinegar rejuvenates the hair with its cleansing and clarifying properties. ACV removes clumpy residue from hair product builds up. It adds shine to the hair and treats split ends by closing the hair cuticle, which helps it to reflect light and makes hair shiny. A mixture of ACV and tea tree oil is a powerful combination for hair growth and healthy scalp.
Mix 1 part of water and 1 part of apple cider vinegar and mix 10-15 drops of tea tree oil. Rinse your hair with this powerful mixture to get healthy hair.
6. Castor oil and Tea tree oil for hair regrowth

Keep your scalp moisturized. Oiling your hair twice a week with coconut oil and tea tree oil will help in balancing the moisture. Coconut oil will also help in treating the infection that is causing the itchiness.
8. Aloe Vera gel and Tea tree oil for hair growth and itchy scalp
Vitamin A present in aloe vera helps to produce healthy sebum, an oily substance secreted by the scalp, which keeps hair and scalp from drying out and breaking off. In addition, Vitamin A fights free radicals that weigh your hair down. Vitamin B12 in aloe vera is important for a healthy scalp. Because of this, it calms the itchy scalp. It wards off dandruff and helps to get rid of the follicles’ debris and encourages the growth of new hair.
Mix 5-7 drops of tea tree oil with 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and apply to the scalp. Keep it for overnight for the fast result or rinse it after 30-40 minutes. Use only herbal shampoo to wash your hair.
9. Egg white and Tea tree oil for hair loss
Egg white for hair can be helpful as it is rich in vitamins A, D, and E, proteins, fatty acids, and sulfur. It is an easy solution to most of the scalp and hair problems. An egg has vitamin A which helps to produce healthy sebum, an oily substance secreted by the scalp, which keeps scalp and hair from drying out and breaking off. It helps in controlling dandruff and prevents hair loss.
Mix 1 -2 egg whites and 5 drops of tea tree oil. Apply to the scalp and give a gentle massage of 5-10 minutes. Rinse it off after 30-40 minutes with herbal shampoo. Repeat it for twice a week.
10. Tea tree oil for hair or head lice
Tea tree oil contains two major elements – 1,8-cineole and terpinen-4-ol. These two elements have insecticidal properties which help in killing head lice. Lice eggs are strongly attached to the hair shaft by the mother head lice. The gummy texture that connects lice eggs and hair shaft is very strong. This gummy texture will be dissolved by the application of tea tree oil which makes it easy to remove while combing.
Mix 5-7 drops of tea tree oil with 1 tablespoon of any vegetable oil and apply to the scalp. Keep it for overnight for the fast result. Use only herbal shampoo to wash your hair. Repeat it 3-4 times in a week to get rid of head lice.
