Dark spots on face are frustrating for many people.  People spend lots of money on products which are available in the market but those products not only make your pocket empty, it has many other side effects also like sudden breakouts, dryness etc.

These dark spots on face forms due to age, acne/pimple (face mask for acne), sun exposure, razor bumps, blackheads etc.

Everyone wants a fast result and they choose chemical filled products but the fast result comes with more side effects.

 If you’d rather avoid the side effects of those products, here are some natural treatments for how to remove black spots or dark spots on the face which may help improve the condition of your skin with the fast result.

 


1. Papaya Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • few dices of ripe papaya
  • 1 tablespoon honey

 

Mash the papaya fruit to make a smooth paste and add honey. If you are having dry skin then milk cream will work together with honey and papaya and for combination or oily skin add 1/2 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.

Now, apply this paste to all over your cleansed face and leave it for 15-20 minutes and after that wipe off the mask with a clean damp cloth. do this 3-4 times a week.

Papaya contains papain which is very effective in skin renewal and skin lightening.  

Lemon has vitamin c which reduces the appearance of brown/dark spots and patches.

Milk cream can benefit the complexion as they contain a good amount of lactic acid.  Milk cream and honey both soothe the skin as well as moisturize the skin.

2. Tomato and Lemon Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

  • 1 tablespoon fresh tomato juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

 

Mix both the ingredients and apply this mixture to all over your face and neck or on the affected area and allow it to dry. Then dab some water on your face and give a massage of 2-3 minutes before wiping it off with a clean damp cloth. Repeat it 3-4 times a week.

A combination of tomatoes and lemon juice helps in reducing dark spot, keeps the skin soft and supple for long.

Tomato is a natural astringent that assists to clean your skin pores.

Tomatoes are furthermore very rich in antioxidants and help your skin look young. Lemon will help in getting rid of dark or black spots and acne.


3. Aloe Vera Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

  • 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin e oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

 

Make aloe Vera gel, vitamin e oil, and lemon juice into a creamy paste. Apply this on your face, and massage it in circular motions for 3-5 minutes. After that let the mask stay for 30 minutes and then wipe it off with a damp clean cloth. Repeat it daily to get the desired result.

Vitamin E oil helps in skin rejuvenation and beneficial for depigmentation. 

Lemon juice provides a remarkably even exfoliation of the skin and releases and dissolves dead skin cells, clearing up blocked pores and blackheads.

4. Turmeric Face Scrub For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of ground oatmeal

 

Make an exfoliating scrub by mixing all the ingredients. Apply the scrub on your face and neck, leaving it for approximately 30 minutes. Before rinsing it off, give a gentle massage of 5 minutes to get rid of dead cells. Repeat two times a week.

Turmeric has some compounds that have been shown to directly inhibit melanin production.

Lemon juice and yogurt help in lightening dark spots on your skin and also lemon contain vitamin C, which promotes collagen production (necessary for the creation of new skin cells), is a powerful antioxidant and has been shown to inhibit skin darkening due to UV exposure.

5. Buttermilk Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of ground rolled oats.
  • 1-2 tablespoons of buttermilk to make a paste.

 

Mix all ingredients and make an exfoliating scrub. Apply it to your skin and massage it for 3 minutes. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Repeat 2 times a week.

Oats has known for good skin exfoliation.

It removes dead skin cell. The lactic acid in milk will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion.


6. Potato Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh potato juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond oil

Grate one medium-size potato and squeeze the juice out of it. Mix lemon juice and almond oil with potato juice. Apply this on your face, and massage it in circular motions for 3-5 minutes. After that let the mask stay for 20 minutes. Wipe it off with a clean damp cloth. Repeat daily for the desired result.

Raw potato and lemon juice work very well to help lighten hyperpigmented skin as well as other spots and blemishes on the skin.

Potatoes contain catecholase, an enzyme that is believed to help lighten skin tone.

Almond oil is rich in vitamin e and helps in regeneration of cells which improves skin texture and complexion.


7. Sandalwood Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sandalwood powder
  • 1-2 tablespoon rose water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

 

Mix sandalwood powder with rose water and lemon juice to make a fine paste. And apply it to cleansed face and neck. Wait for the paste to dry and wash it off with normal water. Repeat 3-4 times a week.

8. Castor Oil Face Mask For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • 1/2  teaspoon castor oil
  • 1 vitamin E capsule

 

Mix castor oil and vitamin E capsule well and apply it on your face. Massage face for 5 minutes in circular and upward direction and leave it for half an hour or you can keep it overnight for greater and faster result.

Wipe it off with a clean damp cloth. Repeat it daily as an overnight treatment.

Castor oil is made up of fatty acids, specifically omega-3 fatty acids.

These omega-3s hydrates the skin while stimulating the growth of healthy tissue, thus giving you a blemish free and supple skin.

9. Lemon & Sugar Scrub For Dark Spots On Face

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon brown or white castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoon olive oil

 

Mix all the ingredients and make it like a medium running consistency. If you have dry and sensitive skin then add 1 teaspoon of honey to the mixture. Apply the mixture to your face and massage your face gently for 3-5 minutes in the circular motion after that keep it for 15 minutes and rinse it off. Repeat it 1-2 times a week.

The glycolic acid in sugar evens skin tone by shredding dead skin cell.

Honey will moisturize the skin and olive oil soothes the irritated skin. Lemon juice will fade out the dark spots. 


10. Baking Soda Scrub For Dark Spots On Face

  • 2 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

 

Take a bowl and combine all the ingredients and mix well. Apply a sufficient amount of scrub to wet and cleansed face, massaging in a circular motion for 3-5 minutes to allow the granules to remove dead skin cells. Finally, rinse it off well. This makes your skin look and feels refreshed and healthy.

Baking soda has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which kill the microbes causing acne or pimples, razor bumps and reduces the inflammation of acne.

 Things to know before using face masks

  • Face mask containing lemon juice can have a chemical reaction if the skin is exposed to the sun. So try not to apply face mask containing lemon juice before going to sunlight. Also always apply sunscreen before going out in sun.

    Hey, could you please let me know, if vitamin E capsule can be replaced by vitamin E oil to use with aloevera and lemon juice?

    If I don’t have fresh lemon can I still use ready made lemon juice

      Hi Segametsi,
      Using fresh lemon juice is good for the skin. Ready-made juice can contain a preservative and might not be as effective as a fresh lemon juice.
