Cinnamon is one of the most common and comforting spices around. If you have a kitchen, then you probably have a shaker of cinnamon sitting in the cupboard. Cinnamon is proving to be a spice that not only adds flavor to various dishes but can also cure many infections and diseases. Cinnamon face mask removes acne, acne scars, wrinkles etc. Cinnamon is also considered to be effective for hair problems. It prevents hair fall, removes dandruff etc. There are many benefits of cinnamon for the face. 

Benefits of Cinnamon Face Mask

  • Cinnamon has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which fight acne and pimples.
  • Good for oily skin as it regulates the oil production on the face.
  • Cleanses skin pores and exfoliates the dead skin cells.
  • Improves fine lines by plumping the skin.
  • It has antiseptic property to heal wounds.
  • Smoothen out the dry and itchy skin.

Get rid of acne with Honey and cinnamon Face Mask

Ingredients

How to apply

  • Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste and apply on cleansed face and neck. 
  • Keep it for 5-10 minutes and wash it off.
  • Repeat it for 2-3 times in a week.

Why does it work

  • Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow.
  • Citric acid present in lemon acts as a natural chemical peel to rid acne. It has an acidic property that eliminates excess oil. The combination of Honey and Cinnamon is perfect for getting rid of acne.
  • Note: If you have sensitive skin, leave out or dilute the lemon. If you leave it out add a bit more honey to make the mixture paste-y. This is a mask and not to be used to exfoliate your skin. It’ll hurt if you try!

Why does it work

  • Aloe Vera contains vitamins A, C, and E, which are antioxidants. It also contains vitamin B12. All these help to remove dark spots, itchy and irritated skin and also acne.
  • Almond oil is light in texture, and can easily penetrate deep into the skin, softening and dislodging the dirt and debris accumulated in the skin pores and clears blemishes.

  • Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste and apply on cleansed face and neck. 
  • Keep it for 10-15 minutes and wash it off.

Why does it work

  • The anti-oxidant property in turmeric and tomato helps fight signs of aging like wrinkles. Also, it has vitamin B6 necessary for new skin cell formation i.e. it regenerate skin cells fast and has Magnesium for youthful radiant skin which also contributes in slowing down the aging process of the skin.
  • Vitamin C present in turmeric lightens the dark spots and patches and maintains the skin firmness and tautness by building up collagen.

Cinnamon face mask for glowing skin

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder (Buy From Here)
  • 3 tablespoon mashed/pureed papaya

How to apply

  • Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste and apply on cleansed face and neck. 
  • Keep it for 10-15 minutes and wash it off.
  • Repeat it for 2-3 times in a week.

Why does it work

  • Cinnamon cleanses skin pores and exfoliates the dead skin cell.
  • PAPAIN in papaya is a protein-dissolving enzyme that is a natural acne fighter. It is very effective in skin renewal and skin lightening and gives glowing skin also. It functions as an exfoliator, skin softener and moisturizer. This enzyme helps the body combat free radicals, thus preventing premature aging. Vitamin C present in papaya reduces the appearance of brown spots and other types of sun damage.

Notes

  • Don’t use this mask on a sensitive, inflamed or eczema-prone skin, or if you have fragile capillaries on your face.

      You should not use this overnight. This mask is only for 5-10 mins.

      Hi Hana,
      This is normal because of cinnamon. That’s why its called burning face mask. You should apply this for a few minutes only.

      Yes, it is normal to feel a ticking burning sensation. However, it should not last very long. Know your body, and remove it immediately if the burning is intolerable. My husband and I did it together and his skin reacted very differently than mine, causing his skin to get very irritated and red.

    Hi there,
    I’ve tried your cinnamon mask for wrinkles, and my face went burning red. I only left it on for 30secs. My face feels extremely smooth and beautiful. Is this reaction normal?

      Hi Leyenda, Cinnamon does burn on the skin, its normal.
