- 74.5g Distilled Water (Buy From Here)
- 15g Calendula-infused oil
- 4g Rosehip Oil (Buy From Here)
- 4g Emulsifying Wax NF (Buy From Here)
- 1g Vitamin E Oil (Buy From Here)
- 1g Calendula Extract (Buy From Here)
- 0.5g Liquid Germall Plus (Buy From Here)
- 5 drops Helichrysum Essential Oil (Buy From Here)
- 7 drops Lavender Essential Oil (Buy From Here)
- 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil (Buy From Here)
- Fill a mason jar with your calendula flowers.
- Pour your sunflower oil over the flowers until they’re covered in the oil. Keep pouring oil into the container until the flowers are covered, shaking the jar slightly to get rid of large air bubbles. It is a good idea to have at least one inch of oil above the flower petals so that it is assured that they stay covered.
- With your spoon, finish by pushing all flowers into the oil so they are all submerged. There should not be any pieces popping out. If there are, push them down or add more oil.
- Now, cover tightly and place on a sunny windowsill. Leave in place for fourteen to twenty days, shaking the container lightly once a day to maintain the mixture.
- After about two to three weeks, strain out the calendula flowers using a cheesecloth and store it in a glass container.
- Create a double boiler by filling a medium-sized pot ½ way full with water.
- Add the sunflower oil and dried calendula flower to a glass Pyrex measuring cup.
- Now, place the measuring cup in the pot and place the pot on the stovetop. Turn the stovetop on low.
- Heat for 30-40 minutes and then remove the glass measuring cup from the stovetop. Now, strain the oil with cheesecloth and keep the infused oil in a glass container. Allow cooling of the infused oil overnight.
- Prepare a double-boiler system by adding about 1 inch of water in a wide, flat-bottomed sauté pan. Put the pan on the stove and set the stove on low heat.
- Weigh the water phase ingredients into a small heat-resistant glass measuring cup. Cover the container with aluminum foil to avoid evaporation of water content.
- Weigh the oil phase ingredients into a second heat-resistant glass measuring cup.
- Place both measuring cups in your prepared double boiler system to melt everything through.
- After about 20–30 minutes the oil part should be completely melted and the water part should be warmed.
- Remove the double boiler pan from the heat, remove the foil, and pour the oil part into the water part.
- Mix the water and oil mixture with a spoon vigorously to combine them. Stir the spoon for 10-15 seconds.
- Then, remove the mixture container from the double boiler pan.
- Now, immediately grab your immersion blender (or milk frother for smaller quantities) and begin blending the cream mixture.
- Blend for about a minute, leave to cool for ten minutes.
- After 10 minutes, blend for another minute or two, and repeat this blend-cool-blend cycle until the glass measuring cup is barely warm to the touch and the cream mixture is thick and creamy.
- When the cream mixture is cool it’s time to incorporate cool-down phase ingredients.
- Weigh down the calendula extract and add it to the cream mixture.
- Again, weigh down the liquid germall plus preservative, vitamin E oil, and essential oils and add them to the cream mixture.
- Mix everything well and store it in an airtight jar.
- Your skin-repairing calendula face cream is ready.
- Apply this calendula face cream daily twice on a cleansed face.
