Product Description

Remarkably lightweight, macadamia oil's unique composition gives it an uncanny similarity and compatibility to sebum, the natural oils our own scalp produces. It's this unique similarity that makes it so effective, allowing the oil to infuse into hair and scalp with extraordinarily fast absorption and penetration. ---Skin--One of the best ways that macadamia nut oil can be used is to treat dry, damaged or aging skin. Macadamia nut oil contains the highest amount of palmitoleic acid, which contains many great anti-aging compounds. Some of these compounds have been found to decrease the rate at which skin matures. However, the palmitoleic acid found in macadamia nut oil can not only slow down the signs of aging, but some research has found that it can even remove signs of aging. Macadamia nut oil is light and not greasy, making it a great oil for the skin, and especially the face. When used regularly on the skin, macadamia nut oil can soften, moisturize and even add a glow to dry or damaged skin. ---Hair- Macadamia nut oil contains several important vitamins and minerals that make it a great way to treat dry hair. As discussed earlier, macadamia nut oil is relatively light and not greasy, making it a great treatment for hair. This oil is easily absorbed by both the hair follicles as well as the scalp itself, resulting in less amounts of dandruff, increased silkiness and shine of the hair, and even a promotion in the rate at which the hair grows. While macadamia nut oil is most often used as a type of conditioner for hair, and therefore is washed out after application, it is light enough to leave in without leaving hair greasy or weighed down. Nourishes, de-tangles, and smooth's the hair, leaving it free of frizz. Can also help heal and prevent split ends, giving hair a much healthier appearance.

This is a really nice oil for faces. It absorbs well
I love this product! I only got it yesterday, but I'm very impressed so far. I switched to clean eating awhile ago, and now am doing the same with my cleaning and beauty products. Anything in a "whole and organic" form of course, is better for us. Now my facial products are going to homemade. Before I make my own face cream (I'm going to because there are several things I want to put on my face daily, and to immulsify them together will make application easiest. I'll add that information in later), I tried this macadamia nut oil on my face, straight up. It took a few minutes to completely absorb, but stayed grease free throughout the day.The oil itself is about as viscous as a good olive oil. The smell is intoxicating, and because it smelled so good, I put a drop on my lips (to moisturize, of course lol). It's scrumptious! Seriously, I never felt inclined to taste my almond oil, but ya know how Italians eat olive oil with their bread? I could use a loaf with this 4 ounce bottle... forget my face lol. Really, it's divine. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the fact that the bottle is plastic, and not glass. That's my biggest gripe with organic products. Who knows what chemicals we're getting into and onto our bodies from plastics? I have sent out a question to the company Sweet Essentials if their bottle is BPA free, and another if they'd consider going to glass.Update: Alright, here's my facial lotion recipe. It took a little while for me to acquire all of the ingredients, but I'm really, really happy with the results. I used:2oz (1/4 cup) macadamia nut oil (or you could use any carrier oil but I like that this oil is most like human sebum. I also added to it some jojoba and argan oil)2oz (1/4 cup) shea butter (any type of butter can be used here)3/4oz beeswax (by weight...I finely grated it)8oz aloe vera gel30 drops of grapefruit seed EXTRACT (not oil... this is needed for its anti-microbial effects, so the lotion won't go rancid)The equipment you'll need is either a double boiler or a small pot and a glass or metal bowl that'll set on top, which leaves at least three inches of space between the bottom of the bowl and the bottom of the pot, a blender, a measuring cup, two or three silicone spatulas or metal spoons and a grater (I also used a scale to weigh/measure the shea butter).First sterilize your equipment. I used a sanitizing tablet (Steramine), but you could boil, use a dishwasher (with the heat dryer setting) or use 70% rubbing alcohol. Using your double boiler set up, lightly simmer one inch of water in the pot while melting the carrier oil, butter and beeswax in the bowl on top. Once completely melted, stir with spatula/spoon and let cool. I transferred mine to the blender once it solidified, but was still a little warm. With the blender running on its lowest speed, I added the aloe vera gel a squirt at a time. While I was doing this I found that I needed to increase the blender speed. Once about six ounces was in, I used a spatula to scrape down the insides of the blender. I then continued to add the remaining aloe vera gel. Then, I added the grapefruit seed oil and transferred the lotion to my (sterilized) jar. I'm going to keep it in the fridge, so to prevent it from spoiling. Also, as you can see I'm using a pump to dispense it because putting my hands into it daily will introduce too much bacteria. If you don't have a pump for your lotion, I'd recommend getting it out with a spoon, instead of your fingers. I'm not sure how long this will last, but I'll update as time goes on.Lastly, I leave honest, unpaid for reviews because I like to help others with their purchases. I bought this oil to manage my hair. I saw a review saying it was good for biracial hair, so I decided to buy it. My father has coarse, ethnic hair and my mother has thick, curly hair. You can imagine the combo of having to deal with thick, coarse hair. I've had to rely on relaxers to tame my hair. It left me with damaged, dry hair. I was desperate. This product worked instantly! Usually I have to apply a lot of product, but just a quarter size dollop was enough. It made my hair so manageable! I could actually get a brush though it! This is definitely the best product I have used for my hair. The only con is that it has a strong almost peanut butter like smell. But it does fade away with time. So I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and will buy again.

The scent is amazing! But I bought it for my hair because I read somewhere that OMG this oil is amazing for damaged hair, it does such a good job, doesn't make your hair greasy but makes it smooth instead...yeah right. It did the same exact thing that any other oil does-it made my hair look oily. I should just stop falling for this bs that people say. So, I don't use it, but the scent it so goood, I really liked it. I don't know if it's natural of they put fragrance in it...hope it's natural. Just for the scent I will try to mix it with a hand cream, otherwise I don't know what to do with it because oils are useless for me.

I bought this and grape seed oil, and I use this for my hair and body, and the grapeseed on my face. This oil head done absolute wonders to my normally dry arms and legs!!!! God I've never seen my skin so radiant, smooth and feel so silky my whole life!!! And I've also destroyed my hair with so much over processing and bleaching, that I couldn't believe the reviving it's done in a month with only applying the my hair about 3-4 times a week. My happy isn't breaking off anymore and actually had some luster and shine to it now, and feels so much more softer. And I used to use coconut oil all over and never quite feel it was doing much but because of all the hype I was so loyal. After years of not noticing much change to my skin and my hair state not improving I tried this and in a month I feel like I've had a makeover! I know that sounds dramatic, but the condition of my skin and hair is dramatically different for the better that I had to leave this review! This and the grapeseed oil are now my only products for my skin and hair, my holy grail!

I purchased this Macadamia nut oil because I have eczema on my left hand that's really stubburn to keep under control. I had read comments about people using this oil for just that reason. I had O'Keeffe's Working Hands but stopped using it because it's so heavy. I had put it away and forgot about it. My hand was really getting bad so I took out O'Keeffe's to try again while I waited for this oil to arrive. By the time it got here my hand was much better. Figured now would be a great time to test this oil since my hand was much better and I would be using this oil now to keep the eczema under control.

The first thing I noticed was the VERY strong smell. It smells like roasted Macadamia nuts right out of the oven...lol. The oil is a little on the heavy side but does absorb fairly quickly. The smell lasts a while on your hands but eventually goes away. Now what about the eczema. Well it got worse again so I'm back to using O'Keeffe's hand cream.

I just got an idea. I'll try using the Macadamia oil when I'm in the kitchen cooking and want to keep it "organic" around food. I'll use the O'Keeffe during the day and at night before I go to bed. We'll see how that goes.
