Everybody wants naturally clear, hydrated and glowing skin but due to some of the reasons like acne, blackheads, wrinkles, pollution, and dirt, we don’t get that desired results. But you can beat your skin’s enemies with honey because it is loaded with many vitamins and minerals. It has the ability to fight with microbes which can damage your skin. You can get many benefits from honey by consuming it but to get more apply it on your face as a mask. A honey face mask is the only facial treatment from which you can see the result from the very first use.

A honey face mask treatment has been used for centuries and it is very effective on the skin as it builds your skin’s defenses against bacterial and fungal infections. It makes skin soft, supple and bright. Honey is also effective in treating acne, psoriasis, and eczema.

My favorite is turmeric and honey face mask because my skin is a combination to oily type and this mask helps me to control face oil, zits and gives a healthy glow to my skin. There are many cosmetics brands which claim that their products are good for the skin but I don’t know how these products will react on my skin in the long term. So, I love to harvest the nature’s blessing on my skin and hair and it doesn’t have any side effect too.  I use my own DIY face serum which prevents my skin from acne and dark spots. I use my hair oil that helps me to get rid of dandruff and hair fall.  Come to the point and let’s see what are the benefits of the honey face mask for our skin.

1). Antibacterial and Anti-Septic Property

Since the ancient times, honey has been known for it’s antimicrobial and wound healing property due to it’s antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It also builds a protective layer on the skin to prevent infection. Honey helps us to get rid of acne, pimples and any damages caused by microbes. It has low pH levels, between 3.2 to 4.5 which is far too low for bacterial species that cause acne and blackheads. It also heals the conditions of eczema and psoriasis due to its antimicrobial property.

Honey has been scientifically recognised for its anti-microbial and wound healing properties and is now used clinically as a topical treatment for wound infections and acne healing. Mix both the ingredient and apply to the cleansed face. Keep it for 20-30 minutes and wash it off with normal water. Repeat it for 3-4 times a week to get the fast result. Mix all and make a natural scrub. Cleanse the face and apply it and give a gentle massage of 2-5 minutes on the targeted area. Keep it for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off. Baking soda scrub made with honey is an excellent exfoliator to remove blackheads. It maintains the skin pH which kills the bacteria that clogs pores and prevents acne and pimples.       Hi, Tori, it’s not ok to use baking soda and honey every day as it will be too harsh on your skin. You should use it 2-3 times in a week.

    Is the frankincense oil with honey for scars is it supposed to burn

      Hi Heather,
      This should not happen. If you are facing this, then I think you have skin sensitivity with this oil. Try to increase the proportion of honey by 1 tablespoon or reduce the amount of frankincense oil to 1 drop.

    When a recipe calls for coconut oil can I use the same coconut oil I use in the kitchen for cooking?

      Extra virgin coconut oil is great for skin. If you are using that in your kitchen then yes you can use the same oil on your skin as well.

      Hi Elisabeth,
      The masks which do not have water content can be stored and used. For example, the masks made from honey and oils can be stored.
      Also, make sure that you use dark colored glass container only and keep the container away from direct light.

    Hello! I have had eczema for a really long time now, what can I use with honey to stop this?

      Hi Yetty,
      Take 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel, and 2 drops of lavender essential oil, mix it and then apply on your face. Wipe this off after 30-35 mins.
